OUR MISSION

We envision a new era of human prosperity, driven by the boundless opportunity of Space to enhance life on Earth, and enabled by dramatically improved space transportation.

Our mission is to accelerate the next generation of space users with scalable and sustainable ways to deliver the things they care about from Earth to Space, and from Space to everywhere else.

OUR STORY

Dawn Aerospace was founded in 2017 by Stefan Powell, Jeroen Wink, James Powell, Robert Werner and Tobias Knop, with a shared vision to scale space mobility.

With strong roots in TU Delft University, and deep ties to New Zealand’s Civil Aviation Authority and aircraft certification ecosystem, the founding team brought together expertise in propulsion, aircraft design, and regulatory navigation.

From those beginnings, Dawn has grown into a global effort — with 130+ people work across the Netherlands, New Zealand, France and the USA, flown its spaceplane supersonic in 2024 to 82,00 ft, and had over 100 of its thrusters launched into orbit.

From our founding vision to today’s milestones, the thread remains the same: reliability, reusability, and scalability as the path to making space truly accessible.
